In 1972 Lowell and Phyllis Schaper built their family home on forty acres in Minnetrista. Four years later in 1976 after the first planting of some 600 apple trees, Minnetonka Orchards was born.

2021
After 45 amazing years they passed down their legacy of famous Apple donuts, weddings, special events and fall festivities to the new hands of Esther & Frank Weigel. As the Weigels breathe new life into the business, this family owned and operated apple orchard has blossomed into a first class tourist destination for families in the Twin Cities and beyond. They are excited to bring it back to its full potential.
